I run a lot of Amazon ads. But only on my books with the highest potential for profitability.

Of course, I start with just one Amazon Sponsored Ad, then added another, and here I am now with over 26 Million impressions on my advertisements. Yep, I said millions. That’s how many people have seen my ads!

In the example here these are results from just one book. Imagine these results with multiple books!

That’s how I do it!

When it goes large scale after a while it can actually become overwhelming.

To simplify, here are the basics of what you need to do if you are just getting started.

First, run an automatic ad. After a couple of weeks of collecting data then download your report.

Second, create keyword ads using the report data and Amazon search autofill results. For a large quantity of keywords, group them into similar ads, such as; coloring books for kids and coloring books for adults.

If the auto ad is going well, keep it going. If it isn’t, kill it.

Monitor your keyword ads for ROI. Compare your overall KDP royalties to clicks and ad spend (note: I am not comparing to the sales or acos data from the ads dashboard).

I put this into a spreadsheet weekly.

Some titles I’ll also create an additional ad for it to show in a specific category.

When it makes sense, I may also make an ad to show alongside other Amazon products using its ASIN number.

That’s the basics of it. Auto ad, then keyword ad. Sometimes an ad for a category and/or ASIN.

Ads are great for increasing your KDP book sales.

When you increase sales, it also increases your BSR.

A higher BSR increases your organic sales.

It all increases your royalties, and that’s a win all around when you play it right.

I encourage you to give it a try!

If you haven’t created an ad yet, I challenge you to make one.

Or, if you haven’t tried a keyword, category or ASIN ad, give one of those a go.
