“I think publishing… is just not worth it.”

That was the reply I recently had from one of my email subscribers.

I get it.

Working a full-time job and squeezing in time for a side-gig can be challenging.

But whether the pancake is thick or if it is thin, there are still two sides to it.

So, let’s look the other side…. Why publishing IS worth it…

Here are my 3 biggies…

Flexibility. When I recently had to take time away from my computer to care for an extended family member, my books are still selling every single day and I’m earning income.

Freedom. When I take a break or am on vacation… I’m still making money.

Future. My royalties are my future retirement income. I’ll be 90 years old sitting in my rocking chair and still be receiving direct deposit every month into my bank account, and making money.

Yes, there is the impact too. It brings me joy to read the reviews of happy customers all over the world who have loved my books.

And then there is the legacy of my books that will outlast me.

But to be honest, it really is the flexibility, freedom and future that are my top 3.

I completely understand the challenge.

I use to drive to work in the dark hours of the morning, punch the time clock and get to my assembly line job in the factory before the loud buzzer rang (one of my early jobs).

But an hour of working a job, usually pays an hour of wages.

An hour of publishing can pay you over and over again, forever.

If you only look at one side of the pancake, you could be leaving the other side uncooked… unfinished.

Flip your focus to the other side too.

Then pour on the sweet syrup of success and enjoy.
