You should at least monthly take a look at your website analytics (most people use Google analytics). This is where you find out where website traffic is coming from.
For example, here is a rundown of my website Analytics and Google reporting how internet searchers are finding me “Michelle Brubaker” online during the month of November 2010.
* The #1 way visitors came to my website was by typing my website address www.michellebrubaker.com online.
* The #2 way visitors came to my website was via a link from FACEBOOK.COM
* The #3 way searchers came to my website was by typing “michelle brubaker” into Google search.
* Then they came to my website via links on about 15 other resources and websites online.
Why are these important? Because it tells you where to spend your valuable resource of time. Notice the #2 source of visitors to my website is from “Facebook.” I’m often asked by small business owners “should I do Facebook?” And the answer is “yes” and do it now!
